Chenna and Powdered Milk Logs in Cardamom Syrup
PREPARATION AND COOKING TIME:
YIELD:
- Make Chenna from 1/2 gal milk;
- Boil syrup for 5 minutes then set aside:
- 3 cups water;
- 1 cup sugar;
- Crused cardamom seeds from 8-10 pods;
- Bray the fresh chenna for 5 minutes until perfectly smooth;
- Mix:
- 1 cup dried milk powder;
- 1 1/2 tbsp self raising flour;
- Knead into the chenna;
- Divide into logs about 2 inches long;
- After 5 mins the logs will rise to the surface;
- When golden brown soak for min. 2 hours in syrup. If logs collapse cook for 5 minutes more;
- Serve warm or at room temperature.
