Deep-fried Stuffed Banana Balls
PREPARATION AND COOKING TIME:
YIELD:
- Roast in ghee until brown 1/2 cup of chopped mixed nuts e.g:
- Almonds;
- Cashews;
- Pecans;
- Add and cook for 1 minute:
- 1/4 cup chopped raisins;
- 1/2 tsp groung nutmeg;
- 1/2 tsp ground cardamom;
- Set aside to cool;
- Peel and dice 5 plantains or unripe bananas;
- Fry in ghee for 5 mins;
- Add 3/4 cup sugar and cook until thick;
- Divide into two;
- Mix one half with nuts and roll into small balls;
- Coat these balls with the other half;
- Deep fry balls for a few minutes in hot ghee;
- Drain and coat with powdered sugar.
